Joan Baz is a multidisciplinary visual artist, graphic designer, and animator based between Beirut and Marseille. Passionate about storytelling and visual culture, she co-founded Mt7rk, an online platform dedicated to championing and connecting animation professionals across the Arab world.

In 2015, she established Cardamon House, a design, illustration, and animation studio, where she continues to push creative boundaries across various media. Beyond her studio work, Joan is actively involved in education and knowledge-sharing, having taught at the Lebanese American University and the American University of Beirut, as well as leading workshops and lectures for emerging artists.

At SAC25, Joan Baz will explore the evolution of Arabic animation, shedding light on its cultural impact, and future growth, also will facilitate discussions on Mt7rk’s role in developing the regional animation industry, and contribute with valuable insights about building a more connected and thriving creative community.
