Thabit is an Egyptian animation filmmaker and illustrator with a passion for visual culture heritage. The visionary artist has co-directed several acclaimed animated films, including Gobaz (2012) and Farkha Wa Laken (2013). His work has earned him multiple awards, including two wins at the Cairo International Animation Forum and an official selection at the Annecy Film Festival in 2021.

As the CCO and co-founder of Samaka Studio, he integrates traditional artistic inspiration with modern animation techniques to craft compelling stories. At SAC25, Thabit will share hands-on animation techniques, guiding participants through practical exercises and insights into Samaka Studio’s creative approach, helping attendees refine their animation skills and explore new storytelling methods.
